What is Therapeutic Taping?
Therapeutic taping is a treatment method for those who suffer from acute or chronic neurological, developmental disorders that cause neuromuscular-based disabilities.
The tape has elasticity, like that of skin. When placed appropriately, the tape provides desired, consistent stimuli via the skin to affect the underlying neurological, muscular, and physiological systems.
Taping can be used to reduce atrophy, assist best possible alignment, correct muscle tone, and facilitate movements in feeding, swallowing, and speech production.
