What is RDI?

What is RDI?
Relationship Developmental Intervention is a parent-based intervention approach where a trained consultant coaches parents in positive and effective ways to guide their children’s development through interaction.

In many ways, RDI training provides parents a responsive, high-quality, and dynamic tool to parenting.

RDI targets core developmental areas through interaction such as motivation and self-awareness; emotional regulation & communication; and executive functions e.g. attention, memory, and problem solving.

Who will benefit from RDI?

Families and children/individuals struggling with neurodevelopmental disorders e.g. developmental delays, attachment disorders, Autism, Attention Deficits, Obsessive and Compulsive Disorders.

Yichien incorporates RDI in SOARSM and in regularly scheduled sessions with children dealing with developmentally delayed children and their parents.

Yichien’s Comments: I found RDI principles help parents develop positive and responsive ways to parent their children with their developmental struggles.

Who will benefit from RDI?
Through RDI coaching, parents can learn to assess and meet their children where they are and carefully provide their children opportunities to experience the “just right” challenge to develop independence and confidence. Yichien now offers parents training with RDI principles in her consultation and parent coaching sessions. To find out more about RDI, visit RDIconnect.com.
